I'm a first time homebuyer and upon first browsing condos for sale on various online sites, I came across Chelsea's photo and contact information and immediately thought she looked like a friendly and personable individual. In fact, I had already decided at that point that I wanted to work with her to find my first home; even before she reached out to me. At 46 years old, I had been renting all my life and basically knew absolutely nothing about buying my own home. My landlord had very suddenly decided that she was going to sell her house and had indicated she wanted to list it on the market by July or August. That didn't leave me much time to find a place to live so I was in a bit of a panic. I wasn't even sure it was do-able in that short timeframe and had no idea what the initial steps should be, etc. At the beginning of the condo hunt, the whole experience felt very overwhelming and with me being so "green" about the entire process, I needed to ask all the questions, whether they may be considered intelligent questions or very basic questions (that some realtors may be very easily annoyed with). Right from the start, Chelsea understood the urgency and assured me that no question was a dumb question and indicated that she was there to answer absolutely any question I had. That made me feel more comfortable and at ease about the process. I knew that I wanted to find a home that would be spacious and comfortable enough for myself and my two cats - I didn't want to live in a super small, crowded space at my age. I expressed that to Chelsea and as a result, she immediately started looking for spaces she felt would be more ideal for me in terms of my age and my specific personal needs. Naturally, the second time we got together to view properties, the options were much better and that was due to her intuition and level of expertise. She worked hard day and night to make the whole process easier for me. It didn't matter when I had a question - she always answered it. She was proactive and diligent and I have appreciated that so much. Within a two-week span, I had two favorite condos; one I favoured slightly more than the other. There was a pretty large price difference between the two and of course, my favorite was the larger, more expensive condo. I just wasn't sure that it was in my price range so I instructed her to make an offer on the lower priced one. At the last minute prior to making the offer, she was advised that someone had already made an offer on that condo the night before and that the possession date was not ideal based on my current situation anyway; so she suggested we make an offer on the higher priced condo (my favorite) just to see what the owner would say. It was definitely a bit of a risk as she had done her research and the property was priced accordingly with other properties of its size in that same area of the city. To make a long story short, the offer was accepted and we were both very pleasantly surprised. On the day we viewed the condo that is now mine (yay!), I didn't have to say anything. She could tell by my reaction that it was my favorite and despite the fact that we hadn't known each other very long, her instincts told her that this particular condo would make me happiest and upon presenting the offer to the seller's realtor, she very personally conveyed my interest and had some nice things to say about my capability and credibility. I was very humbled and impressed at how personal and honest she was in presenting the offer. She has walked me through the entire process from start to finish and I haven't had any worries due to her diligence and vast knowledge of the entire process.
